Baptism at St Mary’s Lawford
In baptism parents are thanking God for his gift of life, making a decision to start their child on the journey of faith and asking for the Church’s support.
In the Baptism service parents thank God for his gift of life, make a decision to start their child on a journey of faith and godparents promise help and support. The church also promises to welcome the child and to pray for the family.
Baptism at Lawford takes the form of three steps:-
We run Baptism preparation for parents & godparents over two evenings, 4 times a year.
For your child, being baptized marks the start of a lifelong journey of faith as part of the local and worldwide Christian family. If this is something you want for yourself or your child, we would love to be part of this with you. Anyone who is part of the church community can be baptised at St Mary’s Lawford. This means if you live within the parish of St Mary’s or are a regular worshipping member of the church, we will be happy to Baptise you or your child.
We present the baptism certificate at a Family Service usually in the month following the baptism. For more details ring the parish office, or use the contact link at the top of this page.
